The Chennai Press Club is the premier professional association of journalists in the city. Located inside the Government Estate just off arterial Anna Salai, the club has a long history of playing host to several dignitaries and personalities who have excelled in various endeavours.
The press club has a membership base that is primarily made up of members of the journalistic fraternity. It also has associate members from related fields and some corporate members from industry. As an institution, it has been in the forefront of any struggle to assert the rights of the Fourth Estate. Its traditional welcoming ambience has made the club the preferred venue for holding press conferences.
